UPDATED ASTM E 1527/E 1528 STANDARDS NOW IN EFFECT!

 

ASTM’s updates to Environmental Site Assessment Standards are now in effect. Major changes include:

• Introduction of the concept of business environmental risk;
• Addition of historical recognizedenvironmental condition(HREC) terminology;
• Identification of supportingdocumentation for Phase I reports;
• Revised Phase I formats to parallel the standard practice;
• and Guidance for the selection of a Phase I environmental professional.

RT has been following the updated standards since early this year. Previously completed Phase Is will require updating, to include more supporting documentation for future property resale.
